A Message from Our Fun Stars

Community activities for disabled adults and teenagers.

Take a peek into the heart of Fun Farm with this candid Vox Pop featuring participants sharing their experiences. From spontaneous chants of “Fun Farm!” to genuine expressions of it being the “best time of my life,” the video captures the unfiltered joy and sense of belonging at Fun Farm events. Participants talk about escaping daily concerns, enjoying discos with great music and food, and inviting others to join in the laid-back, welcoming atmosphere.

The Fun Farm Story

Community activities for disabled adults and teenagers.

Fun Farm was initally the brainchild of Karen Howe, whose son Dylan lives with disability.

As Dylan grew into his late teens and left school, Karen realised that there just wasn’t much around in the Redlands offering activities, connection and support for teenagers and young adults with disabilities. Karen also realised that families and carers of those living with disability would also benefit from being part of a community of like minded people, sharing resources and celebrating wins.

Our Vision – A safe and inclusive space for our disability community to share their hopes and dreams.

Our Mission – To deliver activities, experiences and opportunities that build individual capacity and connections for people with disabilities, their families and carers – fun guaranteed!

Our Values – Accountability; Respect; Empowerment; Inclusion; Kindness; Acceptance; Integrity; Collaboration.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Fun Farm?

Fun Farm Ltd is an organisation set up to advance social and public welfare by providing services and activities that help and benefit young people with disabilities aged 13 years and older; their families (parents, siblings & broader family members) and carers.

We recognize that teenagers and young adults with disabilities and their families often lose social connections after they leave school and need opportunities to connect with others for friendship and social activity, learning and FUN!

Our Vision – A safe and inclusive space for our disability community to share their hopes and dreams.

Our Mission – To deliver activities, experiences and opportunities that build individual capacity and connections for people with disability, their families and carers – fun guaranteed!

Our Values – Accountability; Respect; Empowerment; Inclusion; Kindness; Acceptance; Integrity; Collaboration.

What does Fun Farm do?
We deliver events and activities that help create new connections, friendships and support networks for members of the Redlands disability community. This could include special occasion events (Christmas etc), BBQ & Movie nights; bushwalking; family day’s; cooking ‘classes’; art groups; gardening; employability skills; sport and recreation activities; cultural and social events. It may also include Carer’s lunches, forums, education sessions, guest speakers, online support groups, fundraising activities etc.
Where are you located?
We run many of our functions from the Birkdale Multi Sports Club as our primary Cnr Randall and Bailey Roads, with the Club as one of our very generous sponsors and partners. Events will be held all over the Redlands however, depending on what exciting thing we happen to be doing! Keep an eye for all the details on our Programs & Events page
Why focus on social inclusion?
Social inclusion and social-connectedness are important for physical and mental health, for young people with disabilities and for their families and carers. Often however, mainstream community activities and events often fail to accommodate the functional needs of teenagers with disabilities – the lights are too bright, the music too loud, the pace to fast, the pressure too much. Fun Farm aims to fill the hole in social inclusion activities for this age group by delivering events and programs in the local Redlands community that meet the needs of teenagers and young adults with significant disabilities.
